“Our Annual Confabs are all about taking a dive and exploring the hospitality scene in various cities,” said Andrew Benioff, Founder & Chairman of the Independent Lodging Congress. We chose New Orleans because of its interesting community, culture and stew of people. The city is experiencing a huge boost in international tourism and development of independent hospitality projects. It’s the place to be.”
What is unique to the event is an integrated Immersive Experience on January 13TH which will take All Access attendees out of their seats and into the city for a curated experience to explore themes discussed on panels first hand. New Orleans is a city heavily focused on preservation – in both the cultural and historical context. The Immersive Experience will take attendees to the Marigny neighborhood with educational sessions at locations like Hotel Peter & Paul and local art warehouse StudioBE.
INDIE Confab New Orleans 2020 (with the main sessions taking place at the Ace Hotel in the Warehouse District) will offer attendees the opportunity to listen, learn and engage with industry powerhouses as they share stories of success, failure and their predictions for the future of the independent hospitality business., INDIE Confab New Orleans 2020 follows the successful Independent Lodging Congress 2019 - a 3-day event held this past October in Los Angeles, where speakers included Brad Wilson, President of Ace Hotels; Benjamin Trigano of Mama Shelter; Venus Williams of V Starr Interiors; Chip Conley, Founder of The Modern Elder Academy; Bill Walshe, CEO of Viceroy Hotels; Jim Shreve, President & CEO of Baccarat; and more than 50 other leading hospitality industry executives and entrepreneurs.
The Independent Lodging Congress has become what attendees and speakers have called the “gathering for disruptors in hospitality and travel,” and is the first conference focused on generating change by challenging their attendees and asking the uncomfortable questions that lead to provocative conversation and actionable resolution.
