Hotel workers vote to ratify deal to end San Francisco strike: The more than 2,000 hotel workers who have been on strike for two months against seven hotels affiliated with Marriott International in San Francisco voted on Monday to ratify a contract that will end the strike, KQED reports.

A total of 99.6% of union members voted in favor of the contract, which “ends a strike by housekeepers, bartenders, bellmen and others represented by Unite Here Local 2 that began (4 October).” Unite Here Local 2 President Anand Singh told the news outlet that the ratification of the contract “is a historic deal for these workers and our union." Employees are expected to return to their jobs on Wednesday.

Subpoenas to be issued in Trump hotel lawsuit: A federal judge has given the green light for lawyers in Maryland and Washington, D.C., to “begin issuing subpoenas in a lawsuit that accuses President Donald Trump of using his luxury hotel in Washington to unconstitutionally profit from his political office,” Politico reports.

Approximately 20 companies and government agencies will be served with subpoenas by midday on 4 December, the attorneys general in Maryland and Washington told the news outlet. The case marks “the first time a lawsuit alleging a president violated the Constitution's emoluments, or anti-corruption, clauses has advanced to the discovery stage,” according to Politico.

The lawsuit accusing the president of violating two emoluments clauses of the U.S. Constitution was filed in June 2017.

Construction boom in Germany powered by chain hotels: Major cities in Germany are seeing a growth spurt in the number of hotels being built, which is fueled by brand-affiliated hotels, HNN contributor Tamara Thiessen writes.

Growth is being seen in secondary and tertiary markets, but the cities leading the way in terms of the construction boom include Hamburg, Frankfurt, Düsseldorf, Berlin, Munich, Cologne and Stuttgart.

“Despite signs of overcapacities at some locations, the hotel industry will continue to expand its offerings in the coming years,” said Otto Lindner, IHA chairman and CEO of family-managed Lindner Hotels & Resorts, which counts 20 German hotels in its 37 pan-Europe portfolio.

Hyatt closes on Two Roads acquisition: Hyatt Hotels Corporation announced that the company has closed on its deal to buy Two Roads Hospitality, according to a news release. Hyatt bought the company for $405 million rather than the original price of $480 million.

“With the addition of five established lifestyle brands – Alila, Destination, Joie de Vivre, Thompson, and Tommie – Hyatt has expanded its brand presence into 23 new markets with management and license agreements for 74 open and operating hotels across North America and Asia, and a robust pipeline of signed management agreements,” the release states.

"We will leverage the shared expertise of Hyatt and Two Roads across our powerful combined portfolio of 19 brands to bring best-in-class offerings for guests around the globe," said Hyatt President and CEO Mark Hoplamazian in the release.

Proposal pops up for hotel by new Las Vegas ballpark: The new baseball stadium coming to Las Vegas is currently under construction, and plans for a 267-room hotel south of the park has been proposed, according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal.

Commissioners from Clark County will vote on the planned hotel on 5 December, the news outlet reports. If approved, the hotel would sit on 4.3 acres of land and have a restaurant, rooftop bar and a spa, and will be developed by Howard Hughes Corporation. The hotel would be located in the Las Vegas suburbs close to the Red Rock Resort.
