The Texas Self Storage Association, the largest state self-storage organization in the U.S., officially endorsed STR for its benchmarking services and expansion into the self-storage industry.

HENDERSONVILLE, Tennessee—STR, a global leader in data and analytics services, has received the official endorsement of the Texas Self Storage Association (TSSA), the largest state self-storage organization in the country. The endorsement is one of only several provided by the TSSA in its 30-year history.

“STR’s track record and expertise directly address the need for better data in our industry,” said Ginny Sutton, TSSA executive director. “For that reason, we are endorsing STR as our official data partner. This relationship will allow us to better assess industry performance, and access to data of this caliber will guide our members in improving their business performance.”

With more than 30 years as the leader in benchmarking services for the hotel industry, STR launched a Sector Analysis division to deliver its platform to additional industries. STR’s expansion into the self-storage sector established a goal of providing industry owners, operators, investors, developers and analysts with timely and actionable supply, development and performance data. Earlier this year, STR released its first quarterly Industry Report with a look at self-storage development activity in the nation’s Top 25 MSAs as well as its first report to feature self-storage performance data (for the Dallas MSA).

“We are thrilled to work with the Texas Self Storage Association in providing actionable insights on the performance of the self-storage sector,” said Anne Hawkins, STR’s executive VP. “The TSSA has a long-standing history of delivering value to its members, and we are proud to be a part of the effort to help operators better understand their market conditions and drive optimal performance. Our goal is to create a true data-driven culture in the self-storage industry. A partnership of this caliber is a major milestone in achieving that goal.”
