Frits van Paasschen, former CEO of Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, will be the keynote speaker at the 9-11 August Hotel Data Conference.

HENDERSONVILLE, Tennessee—Frits van Paasschen, author of The Disruptors’ Feast and former CEO of Starwood Hotels & Resorts, will deliver the keynote address during the 2017 Hotel Data Conference in early August.

Presented by Rainmaker, HDC is expected to attract a record turnout of 600 attendees to the Omni Nashville Hotel on August 9-11. The conference, co-hosted by STR and Hotel News Now, has sold out three years in a row.

Van Paasschen will speak during the Friday, August 11, morning general session. He will share his unique perspective on the current trends that are affecting business around the world and his understanding of the factors that are disrupting the status quo in an ever-changing business environment.

“Frits has long been known as an innovative and tech-savvy leader, and we’re eager to hear his expertise applied to the events currently affecting the hotel industry,” said Jeff Higley, VP of digital media & communications for STR and editorial director for Hotel News Now. “A major reason the Hotel Data Conference attracts sell-out crowds is the caliber of speakers. Having Frits in this year’s speaker lineup will anchor a program aimed at exceeding the expectations of our audience.”

Prior to serving as CEO of Starwood from 2007-15, van Paasschen spent three years as CEO of Coors Brewing Company. He also held management positions with Nike and Disney.

Now in its ninth year, the 2017 Hotel Data Conference will comprise more than 125 speakers across four general sessions, 17 breakout panel sessions, 18 “data dash” sessions and 10 advanced-level “data dive” discussions. Additional program information will be updated throughout the summer at www.HotelDataConference.com.
